  Models:

Substrates are code-approved substrates of brick, masonry, monolithic concrete walls, Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs), cementitious panels, glass-mat-surfaced gypsum sheathing board, plywood, or OSB.

The DuROCK InsulROCK EIFS wall assembly includes the following being applied onto the substrate wall layer:

  1. Water penetration barrier layer: DuROCK Cement Bear, Polar Bear, or Vapour Block (optional based on code requirements and substrate materials), or optional DuROCK-approved and code approved SBS sheet membrane;

  2. Adhesive layer (unless mechanical fasteners are used as per item 4 below);

  3. Type 1 or Type 2 expanded polystyrene-foam (EPS) insulation board that conforms to CAN/ULC S701 (maximum thickness as below);

  4. Code-approved mechanical fasteners installed according to manufacturer recommendations (optional for use in place of adhesive layer as per item 2);

  5. Fiber mesh: DuROCK Fibre Mesh (min. 150 g/m2) embedded in prep coat or base primer;

  6. Base coat / adhesive: DuROCK Prep Coat Fine, DuROCK Prep Coat D, DuRock Prep Coat P, or DuROCK Prep Coat A;

  7. Finish coat: DuROCK finish coat with or without Base Primer;

  8. Drainage Track (optional): DuROCK Uni-Track;

  9. Transition membranes (optional) self-adhering membranes used at substrate expansion joints and rough openings.

The DuROCK PUCCS EIFS assembly is identical to InsulROCK except the PUCCS EPS insulation panels in item 3 above have pre-machined circular drainage channels.

The DuROCK Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) finishing system is an EIFS assembly directly applied to the outer ICF EPS panel, which is treated as the substrate wall layer.  The additional layers of the EIFS including EPS foam are added, with the maximum thickness of foam (as below) taking into consideration the sum of thickness of the EPS panels in both the ICF assembly (exterior side) and the EPS insulation board in the EIFS.

The DuROCK ICF finishing system includes the following being applied onto the code complying ICF wall substrate with insulation panel of up to 70 mm thick and up to 24 kg/m3

  1. Fiber mesh: DuROCK Fibre Mesh (min. 150 g/m2) embedded in prep coat or base primer;

  2. Base coat / adhesive: DuROCK Prep Coat Fine, DuROCK Prep Coat D, DuRock Prep Coat P, or DuROCK Prep Coat A;

  3. Optional Base Coat Polar Bear

  4. Finish coat: DuROCK finish coat with or without Base Primer;
