1. Products are marked in a permanent manner on each axle, or on a label firmly attached to the axle, with the following information:

 

a) The name of the company that assembled the running gear, or the usual name under which the partnership or individual carries on business

b) The month and year during which work on the running gear was completed at the place of main assembly, or the serial number, in which case records shall be kept to permit determination of the month and year of manufacture

c) The model or type designation

d) Static loaded radius of the tires

e) The wording "Tires, rims, and wheels shall comply with CMVTSS 109 and CMVSS 110; or CMVTSS 119 and CMVSS 120."

f) The wording "Trailer running gear shall be equipped with tires having a static loaded radius that does not exceed by more than 10% the static loaded radius shown in the tire manufacturer's published data for the actual tire tested."

g) Axle voltage rating

h) Axle current rating

i) The QAI logo with the 'c' identifier

j) The QAI listing number: REC598

k) The applicable standard: CAN3-D313-M85 (R2012)

 

2. The following brake assembly information shall be provided by the brake manufacturer on the brake backing plate:

 

a) Brake manufacturer's ID

b) Model number

c) Lining material friction code as stipulated in SAE recommended practice J866a or equivalent

5. Axles may have lubed or non-lubed spindles.

6. Overslung or Underslung refers to the location of the sping mounting in relation to the axle tube. For example: an overslung axle is one where the spring is mounted on top of the axle tube.

7. Includes all available torsion starting angles.
