All markings must be permanent and visible after installation. 

The QAI label (item 1064, white lettering on blue background, 3-1/2” diameter) for single section homes is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel or next to the main entrance way of the unit.

The QAI label (item 1065, white lettering on green background, 3-1/2” diameter) for multiple section homes is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel or next to the main entrance way of the unit.

The specification nameplate (item 1063, black lettering on white background, 8-1/2” x 11”) is located on the inside of a kitchen cabinet door or the master bedroom closet and includes:

 

 

  • manufacturer’s name and address
  • model
  • serial number
  • year of manufacture
  • ground snow load and roof design snow load
  • design wind pressures in kilopascals (1/50) without anchorage (see Clause 5.4 of CSA Z240.2.1)
  • thermal resistance of insulation and the outside design temperature used in the heat loss calculations
  • a list of the appliances that are factory installed in the unit, or supplied with the unit for installation at the site, specifying make, model, and type of energy used (i.e., oil, gas electricity, or wood)
  • complete electrical rating (i.e., voltage, frequency, and input current)

 

 

 

 

 
 
       
  Models:

The scope of buildings covered by this Listing include:

Homes are:                Single family dwellings, comprised of single or two modules, in single storey configurations.

Structural:                  Conventional wood frame construction

Electrical Rating:         120/240 VAC, 60Hz, 200A max

Heating/Ventilation:     Electrical Baseboard Heaters or Central Forced Air Furnaces. Units may be Electric, Natural Gas, or LPG fired. Systems may be equipped with air conditioning.

Plumbing:                   Conventional drainage and vent systems to a maximum of 240 hydraulic fixture units. 

These manufactured structures are residential dwellings manufactured at a central facility and transported to the dwelling site.  These units, when completely assembled on site, are equipped with normal facilities for connection to municipal water, sewage, electrical or gas services.  QAI certification covers the construction of the structure and any factory installed plumbing, gas, and electrical services, and is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authorities except for site connections to services or to other modules and for site mounting features. 

 
 
       
  Note:

Homes are built to conform to CSA Z240 MH Series and may only be installed in locations where the CSA Z240 MH Series standard is approved by the authority having jurisdiction.

Interconnection of modules, completion of structural systems and connection to services must be finished on site as specified in the electrical and building permits and are subject to inspection by the local authorities having jurisdiction.

Products shall be installed in accordance with CSA Z240.10.1 or the local code of the authority having jurisdiction.

Printed instructions on the following are provided in English and French with every manufactured home:

a)       maximum pier loading and spacings (the instructions shall also provide details on the use of top blocking plates for distributing pier load); Note: The manufacturer should provide any necessary additional information on the blocking procedure best suited to the manufactured home.

b)       anchorage, including the location and required capacity of anchorage devices;

c)       items to be installed or completed on site; and in the case of a multi-section manufactured home, the method of maintaining the integrity of the vapour barrier at the joints between each section.
