CSA C22.1 “Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, Safety Standard for Electrical Installations”

All markings must be permanent and visible after installation.   

The QAI label (Item 1069, black print on silver background) is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel. The QAI label includes the QAI registered logo with "c" indicator, the wording "Commercial/Industrial Unit for Electrical Features Only," the wording "Information on this unit appears on the Technical Data Sheet inside the unit", and the label serial number.

The specification Nameplate (Item 1079, Black Lettering on White background ) is located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:

-          Manufacturer’s name and address

-          Product model and serial numbers

-          Complete electrical rating

-           Appliances  and equipment that are factory installed

The QAI label and specification nameplate are available from QAI and must be applied at the factory.

The scope of structures covered by this Listing include: 

Structures are:           Commercial/Industrial structures comprised of single or multiple modules. Structures in this category typically include but are not limited to office space, equipment storage spaces, lunch rooms, camp facilities such as dormitories, washroom facilities, kitchens and dinning trailers, and other similar commercial or industrial structures.

Electrical Rating:         120/240V, 60Hz, 200A max, single phase

The fire alarm system and sprinkler system, if provided, are not included in this report and QAI certification. This report does not include structures for use in hazardous locations. This report does not include services other than the electrical nor does it include vehicular lighting or brake wiring systems.

Structures included in this report are manufactured at a central facility, complete with electrical wiring, for installation or connection to other modules in the field. These units, when completely assembled in the field are equipped with normal facilities for connection to electrical services. QAI certification covers any factory installed electrical services and is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authority except for field service connections, any interconnection between modules, and for field installed features.

Interconnection between modules and connection to electrical service must be finished on site as specified in the electrical permits and are subject to inspection from the local authorities having jurisdiction.
