AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440 “North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors, and skylights”
The International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), National Building Code of Canada, and other respective State, Provincial, and Municipal codes have adopted the requirement for windows, doors, and skylights to comply with the physical testing requirements of AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2 A440 “North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors, and skylights” (commonly referred to as the NAFS standard).
Fenestration products in Canada are also required to comply with the Physical Testing for Windows and Doors CSA A440S1 Canadian Supplement to NAFS which contains additional test requirements that are specific to Canada. Furthermore, products that are installed in High Velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ) may be required to comply with additional requirements as outlined in the Florida Building Code. Curtain walls and storefront glazing may be required to comply with various AAMA specifications to address site specific details.
