Business Commercial Industrial Structures

All markings must be permanent and visible after installation.
1. The QAI label (item 1096, black letter with siler background) is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:
• Certification label serial number,
• QAI certification logo with the ‘c’ identifier,

2. The Specification Nameplate (item 1068, white with black, 8-1/2” x 14” is normally located on the inside of a cabinet door under the sink and includes:
a) Manufacturer’s Name and Address,
b) Date of Manufacture,
c) Product Serial Number or Product Code,
d) Foundation Type,
e) Floor Live Load,
f) Specified Snow Load (1/50),
g) Seismic Response Sa(0.2),
h) Hourly Wind Pressure (1/50),
i) Building Envelope Effective Thermal Resistance,
j) Windows/Doors/Skylights Thermal Characteristics,
k) Outside Design Temperature (Heat Loss/Heat Gain)
l) Factory Installed Appliances,
m) Site Installed Components, Assemblies, and Systems,
n) Electrical System Voltage, Frequency, and Amperage
Other Markings as required by the relevant Codes.

Note: The QAI Label and Specification Nameplate are available from QAI and must be applied at the Factory.

Factory Built Modular Structures, constructed in single or multiple modules in single storey configurations with a building area not exceeding 600m². This listing includes structures intended to be used under a single Major Occupancy classified as:
• Group D – Business and Personal Services, or
• Group F, Division 3 – Low-Hazard Industrial.

Structures under this listing typically include units used as business offices, personal services, or storage. This listing does not include structures with multiple Major Occupancies.

Structural:

Steel shipping container modified as per P.Eng. design in Part 4 in a facility that is certified to CSA A660 and CSA W47.1. Building envelope is designed in Part 5 by P.Eng.

Electrical:
120/240V, 1PH, 60Hz, 200A Maximum

Plumbing:
Conventional drainage and vent systems to a maximum of 240 Hydraulic Fixture Units.

Heating/Ventilation:
Electric forced air wall heaters or baseboard heaters. Units are equipped with an ERV and may contain air conditioning and/or hydronic heating. Units may be equipped with Central Forced Air Furnaces.

Gas:
None

Notes: Modular Buildings included in this listing are manufactured at a central facility and are transported to site. These modules must include provisions for on-site connection to foundations and site built components, municipal water and sewage, and electrical supply. QAI certification covers the construction of the units, including any factory installed plumbing and electrical services, appliances, equipment, and fixtures. QAI certification is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authorities except for site connections to services and site installed features.
Site installation of products must be done according to the Manufacturer’s installation instructions and in compliance with the requirements set by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction.
