Permanent Engineered Structure
All markings must be permanent and visible after installation.
The QAI label (item 1097, black letter with silver background) is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:
− Certification label serial number
− QAI certification logo with the “C” Identifier
− “Permanent Engineered Structure”

The specification nameplate (item 1068, 8-1/2” x 14” size) is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:
− Manufacturer’s Name and Address
− Date of Manufacture
− Model Serial Number or Product Code
− Foundation Type (Perimeter Foundation Wall or Piers)
− Floor live Load
− Specified Snow Load (1/50)
− Seismic Response Sa (0.2)
− Hourly Wind Pressure (1/50)
− Envelope Effective Thermal Resistance
− Windows/Doors/Skylights Thermal Characteristics
− Site Installed Components, Assemblies, and Systems
The QAI label and specification nameplate are available from QAI and must be applied at the factory.
Factory Built Modular Structures constructed in single modules in single storey configurations. This listing includes structures intended to be used under a single Major Occupancy classified as:
• Group F3 – Low Hazard Industrial Structures
Structures are designed and constructed within the limitations of Part 4 and Part 5 of the applicable building code. This covers only the structural and building envelope of the building.
Structural: Engineered Steel Structure
The steel building shall be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of CSA A660 “Certification of Manufacturers of Steel Building Systems”. All welding to be done in a shop is approved to CSA W47.1 “Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel”.
Gas Systems: N/A
Structures included in this listing are manufactured at a central facility and transported to the site. These modules must include provisions for onsite installation. QAI certification covers the structural and building envelope aspects of the structure. Electrical, plumbing, gas, and HVAC systems are completed as necessary onsite and is governed by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Occupancy specific requirements as per the applicable building code is also completed as per the local AHJ’s requirements.
QAI certification is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authorities except for site installed features.
Site installation of products must be done according to manufacturer’s installation instructions and in compliance with the requirements set by the local authority having jurisdiction.
