Factory Built Permanent Engineered Modular Structures

Products are labelled and marked in a permanent manner where it is readily visible after installation with the following information:

QAI compliance label (Item 1097, black lettering with silver background) is located in close proximity to the electrical panel.

The specification nameplate (item 1068, 8-1/2” x 14” in size) is located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:

• Manufacturer’s Name and Address
• Date of Manufacture
• Model Serial Number or Product Code
• Foundation Type (Perimeter Foundation Wall or Piers)
• Floor live Load
• Specified Snow Load (1/50)
• Seismic Response S_a (0.2)
• Hourly Wind Pressure (1/50)

Structures are:
Permanent engineered modular structures under Part 3, 4, 5, 6 of the National Building Code. These permanent modular structures are classified under Group B, Division 3 occupancies comprised of single or multiple modules in single or up to a maximum of 3 storey configurations. Structures included in this listing require considerations from parts of the building code outside of Part 9 with respect to structural, fire safety, and mechanical systems.

Structural:
Conventional wood frame construction.

Electrical System:
120/240V, 60Hz, 200A max.

Plumbing System:
Conventional drainage and vent systems to a maximum of 240 hydraulic fixture units.

Heating / Ventilation:
Units are equipped with central electrical heat exchanger and/or PTAC units.

Fire Alarm System:
Units may be installed with a fire alarm system. This certification does not cover operation of the fire alarm system which is required to be tested and approved on site by a qualified technician.

Structures included in this listing typically include Care Facilities without treatment such as daycares.

Modules are manufactured at a central facility and transported to the site location. These modules, when completely assembled on site, are equipped with normal facilities for connection to municipal water and electrical services. QAI certification covers the construction of the modules and any factory installed electrical and plumbing services,and is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspections by the local regulatory authorities except for site connections to services or to other modules and for site mounting features.
