Note: Unless otherwise specified, the Standards and Codes noted are the most current versions in effect.

Floor Cassettes and Building Envelope Panels

All markings must be permanent and visible after installation.

1. Each panel is marked with the QAI label (item 1101, black with white, 4” x 3-3/8” size) located in the top of panel and includes:
a) Manufacturer’s name or trademark
b) Panel serial number
c) Certification label serial number
d) Reference to the Specification Nameplate
e) The wording “Prefabricated Panels”
f) QAI logo shown here:

2. The specification nameplate (item 1068, 8-1/2” x 14” size) is provided to the purchaser and includes:
a) Manufacturer’s name or trademark
b) Date of manufacture
c) Model name or project code
d) Foundation type (perimeter foundation wall or pier)
e) Floor live load
f) Specified snow load (1/50)
g) Seismic response Sa (0.2)
h) Hourly wind pressure (1/50)
i) Envelope effective thermal resistance

3. Other markings as required by the relevant code.

Note: The QAI labels and specification nameplate are available from QAI and must be applied at the factory.

Prefabricated panels intended to be used in engineered structures built under Parts 3, 4, 5, 6 of the British Columbia Building Code. These structures are classified under one major occupancy Group C – Residential.

This listing covers the factory-built exterior facing building envelope panels and floor cassettes designed to be assembled on-site to provide the finished structures based on registered professional’s designs.

The cross-laminated timber (CLT) wood panels intended for exterior building envelope applications include windows, vapour and weather barriers, insulation, cladding support system and cladding. Refer to the building envelope panels certified by QAI Laboratories Ltd. under listing B1139-2.

The cross-laminated timber (CLT) floor cassettes intended for floor and ceiling applications which may include through penetrations for plumbing pipes and membrane penetrations for electrical conduits, sheet metal ducts and shower drains. Refer to the floor cassettes certified by QAI Laboratories Ltd. under listings B1139-1.

The Listing does not include the installation of appliances or equipment, or other features not included within this listing page. Floor cassettes are evaluated for fire resistance rating and unrestrained load-bearing.

Notes:
Prefabricated panels included in this listing are manufactured at a central facility and transported to the site. These panels must include provisions for on-site interconnections. QAI certification covers the construction of the prefabricated panels including any factory installed components and materials. QAI certification is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authorities except for site installations, connections to services and for site installed features.

Site installation of products must be done according to manufacturer’s installation instructions and in compliance with the requirements set by the local authority having jurisdiction.
