Business Commercial Industrial Structures

Products are marked in a permanent manner where it is readily visible
after installation with the following:
1. The QAI label (item 1096) is normally located in close proximity to
the electrical panel and includes:
 Certification Label Serial Number
 QAI certification label with the ‘c’ identifier,
 “Business Commercial Industrial Structure”,
 QAI Logo is shown here:

2. The Specification Nameplate (item 1068, white with black, 8-1/2” x
14”) is located in close proximity to the electrical panel and
includes:
 Manufacturer’s Name and Address,

 Date of Manufacture,
 Product Serial Number or Product Code,
 Foundation Type,
 Floor Live Load,
 Specified Snow Load (1/50),
 Building Envelope Effective Thermal Resistance,
 Windows/Doors/Skylights Thermal Characteristics,
 Outside Design Temperature (Heat Loss/Heat Gain),
 Factory Installed Appliances,
 Site Installed Components, Assemblies, and Systems, and
 Electrical System Voltage, Frequency, and Amperage

Other Markings as required by the Relevant Codes.

Note: the QAI Label and Specification Nameplate are available from QAI and must be applied at the Factory.

Buildings are used for single Major Occupancy classified as Group D – Business and Professional Services, Group E – Mercantile, and Group F3 – Low Hazard Industrial. These structures are constructed in single or multiple modules in single storey configurations with a building area not exceeding 600m².

Structures in this listing typically include business offices used for personal services, stores, or storage units and may contain Barrier-Free washroom facilities. This listing does not include any structures with Multiple Major Occupancies. For a full list of structures covered under this Occupancy Classification, please refer to Division B, Notes to Part 3, A- 3.1.2.1.(1) Major Occupancy Classification in the BC Building Code.

Structural:
Conventional Wood Frame construction within the limitations of Part 9 of the Building Code. May contain Part 4 Structural Design.

Electrical:
120/208V, 3PH, 60Hz, 200A
120/240V, 1PH, 60Hz, 200A

Heating/Ventilation:
Electric Furnace or Electric Unit Heaters. Modules may be equipped with ducting for installation of a central forced air furnace.

Plumbing:
Conventional drainage and venting systems to a maximum of 240 hydraulic fixture units.

Gas: None.

Notes: Modular Structures included in this listing are manufactured at a central facility and transported to the installation site. These modules, when completely assembled on site, are equipped with normal facilities for connection to municipal water, sewage, and electrical services. QAI certification covers the construction of the modules, and any factory installed plumbing and electrical services and is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authorities except for site connections to services or to other modules, and for site mounting features.

local Authority Having Jurisdiction.
