Relocatable Commercial Industrial Structures

All markings must be permanent and visible after installation.
1. The QAI label (item 1095, black lettering with silver background) is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:
a) Certification label serial number
b) The wording “Relocatable Commercial Industrial Structures”
c) QAI logo shown here:

2. The specification nameplate (item 1068, 8-1/2” x 14” size) is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:

a) Manufacturer’s name or trademark
b) Date of manufacture
c) Model name or project code
d) Foundation type (perimeter foundation wall or pier)
e) Floor live load
f) Specified snow load (1/50)
g) Seismic response Sa (0.2)
h) Hourly wind pressure (1/50)
i) Building envelope effective thermal resistance
j) Windows/doors/skylights thermal characteristics
k) Outside design temperature (heat loss/heat gain)
l) Factory installed appliances
m) Site installed components, assemblies, and systems
n) Electrical system voltage, frequency, and amperage

3. Other markings as required by the relevant code.

Note 2: The QAI labels and specification nameplate are available from QAI and must be applied at the factory.

Factory Built Relocatable Commercial Industrial Structures constructed in single or multiple modules in single storey configurations with a building area not exceeding 1200 m2. This listing includes structures intended to be used under a single Major Occupancy classified as:

• Group D – Business and Personal Services,

Structures described above typically include but are not limited to construction camp facilities, such as office spaces, portable washroom trailers, storage units and other similar business or industrial buildings.

This listing does not apply to sleeping quarters, dormitories, stores units and other residential or commercial buildings and/or any building designed for multiple major occupancies. This certification does not include Part 3 industrial, commercial or semi-commercial buildings, such as Hospitals, nor does it include Hotels / Motels, Schools, Portable Classrooms or any other structure outside the scope of part 10 of Alberta building code.

This listing does not include vehicular lighting or break wiring systems.

Structural:
Conventional wood-frame Construction designed in Part 4 by a Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the Province of Alberta.

Electrical Ratings:
120/240V, 60Hz, 100A Max.

Plumbing:
Conventional drainage and venting systems to a maximum of 240 hydraulic fixture units.

Heating/Ventilation:
Central Forced Air Furnaces. Units may be Electric, Natural Gas or LPG Fired. Systems may be equipped with Air Conditioning and/or Hydronic heating.

Gas Systems:
Structures may be equipped with Natural Gas or LPG Fired appliances and equipment.

Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression and/or Sprinkler Systems:
N/A

Notes:
Relocatable Structures included in this listing are manufactured at a central facility and transported to the site. These structures must include provisions for onsite interconnections, connection to municipal services (water and sewage), electrical power and gas/propane supply. QAI certification covers the construction of structures including any factory installed plumbing, electrical and gas/propane services, appliances, equipment and fixtures. QAI certification is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authorities except for site connections to services or to other modules and for site installed features.

Site installation of products must be done according to manufacturer’s installation instructions and in compliance with the requirements set by the local authority having jurisdiction.
