The scope of Structures covered in this listing include:
Relocatable Industrial Structures under Parts 4, 9 and 10 of Alberta Building Code used for Major Occupancy classified as Group F Division 2 – Medium‐Hazard Industrial Occupancies. Building is comprised of single module not intended for general public access.
Structures described above typically include units used as power plants and similar temporary structures for electrical mobile equipment.
Light steel frame structure built on top of steel base frame. The steel building shall be manufactured by companies certified in accordance with the requirements of CSA A660 “Certification of Manufacturers of Steel Building Systems”. All welding to be done in a shop certified to the CSA W47.1 “Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel”.
This listing does not apply to sleeping quarters, construction camps, dining trailers, wash-cars, office spaces, storage units and other residential or commercial buildings and/or any building designed for multiple major occupancies. This certification does not include sprinkler and fire alarm systems. Also, it does not include vehicular lighting or brake wiring systems when module is on wheels.
The structures for use in hazardous locations are not included in this report and QAI certification. This certification does not cover completion of sprinkler and fire alarm system. This report does not include services nor does it include vehicular lighting or brake wiring systems.
Structures included in this listing are manufactured at a central facility and transported to the site. These modules include provisions for on-site interconnections and connection to electrical power supply. QAI certification is intended to obviate the necessity of further inspection by the local regulatory authorities except for site connections to services or to other modules and for site installed features.
Interconnection of modules and connection to services must be finished on site as specified in the electrical permits and are subject to inspection from the local authorities having jurisdiction.
Structures shall be installed under permit in accordance with the codes enforced by the authority having jurisdiction.
