Structures are used for single Major Occupancy classified as Group D – Business and Personal Services occupancy, constructed in single module not exceeding 600m2. This listing does not include structures with multiple Major Occupancies.
Structures under this listing typically include units used as portable offices. For a full list of structures covered under this occupancy please refer to Notes to Part 3, A-3.1.2.1.(1) Major Occupancy Classification in the National Building Code.
This certification does not cover completion of the spatial separation and the barrier-free access. A qualified professional is required to design and validate exposing building faces and barrier-free design as per the requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction.
Vehicular lighting and brake lighting systems must be provided by the transport company and be in compliance with the requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Structural:
Engineered steel structure. The steel building shall be manufactured by companies certified in accordance with the requirements of CSA A660 “Certification of Manufacturers of Steel Building Systems”. All welding to be done in a shop certified to the CSA W47.1 “Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel”.Electrical Ratings: 120/208V, 60Hz, 225A, 3-phase systems.
Heating/Ventilation:
Exterior wall mounted forced air furnaces and air conditioning (electric only). Systems may be equipped with electrical baseboard heaters.Plumbing:
Conventional drainage and venting systems to a maximum of 240 hydraulic fixture units.Gas Systems:
None.Fire Alarm Systems:
Fire alarm system consists of smoke detectors, exit signs and emergency lighting.Fire Sprinkler Systems:
This certification does not cover completion of fire sprinkler systems. These systems must be designed by a professional engineer registered in the province in which the building is intended to be installed. Installation and commissioning of sprinklers must be completed on site by qualified technicians as per the requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction.
