Factory Built Engineered Structures

All markings must be permanent and visible after installation.
1. QAI label with ‘C’ identifier (item 1097 – black lettering with silver background) is normally located in close proximity to the electrical panel.

2. The specification nameplate (item 1068, 8-1/2” x 14” size) is located in close proximity to the electrical panel and includes:
− Manufacturer’s Name and Address
− Date of Manufacture
− Model Serial Number or Product Code
− Foundation Type (Perimeter Foundation Wall or Piers)
− Floor live Load
− Specified Snow Load (1/50)
− Seismic Response Sa (0.2)
− Hourly Wind Pressure (1/50)
− Envelope Effective Thermal Resistance
− Windows/Doors/Skylights Thermal Characteristics
− Outside Design Temperature (Heal Loss or Heat Gain)
− Factory Installed Appliances
− Site Installed Components, Assemblies, and Systems
− Electrical Systems Voltage, Frequency, and Amperage

3. Other Markings as required by the relevant codes.
Note 3: The QAI label and specification nameplate are available from QAI and must be applied at the factory.

Engineered Modular Structures under Parts 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Quebec Construction Code, Chapter I – Building (QCC-B). These structures are intended to be used for a major occupancy classified as Group B, Division 1 – Detention and may have a secondary occupancy Group D – Business and Personal Services.
Structures included in this listing are used as penitentiary centers, jails, prisons, and other similar correctional institutions. For a full list of structures covered under the above Occupancy Classifications, please refer to Division B, Notes to Part 3, A-3.1.2.1.(1) Major Occupancy Classification in the QCC-B.
This listing does not include buildings with multiple Major Occupancies. This certification does not cover completion of the spatial separation and the barrier-free access. A qualified professional is required to design and validate exposing building faces and barrier-free design as per the requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction.
The design of each discipline: architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire alarm and sprinkler systems require review and approval by professionals registered in the province where the units are intended to be installed.

Structural:
Engineered steel structure. The steel building shall be manufactured by companies certified in accordance with the requirements of CSA A660 “Certification of Manufacturers of Steel Building Systems”. All welding to be done in a shop certified to the CSA W47.1 “Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel”.

Electrical Ratings:
Up to a maximum of 120/208V, 60Hz, 200A or 120/240V, 60Hz, 200A.
These modules may have electrical wiring and junction/outlet boxes installed for typical electrical applications. The Listing does not include the installation of electrical equipment or other electrical features not included within this listing page.

Plumbing:
Conventional drainage and venting systems to a maximum of 240 hydraulic fixture units.
These modules are rough-in ready featuring the internal supply/drain piping and conduits run for standard use. The Listing does not include the installation of plumbing fixtures and appliances (such as sinks, toilets, or faucets) are not included within this listing page.

Heating, Ventilation, Gas, Fire Alarm and Sprinkler Systems:
The Listing does not address the installation of heating, ventilation, gas/propane, fire alarm, sprinkler, or fire suppression systems components or equipment, or other features not included within this listing page. The design of these systems must be designed by a professional engineer registered in the province in which the building is intended to be installed. Installation and commissioning of these systems must be completed on site by qualified technicians as per the requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction.
