Fire Door Field Labeling Quality Inspection Services

Electrical Special Quality Inspection Services(Field Evaluation of Electrical Products for Canada only)

The special inspection program is a unique program offering manufacturers/importers/distributors of electrical equipment the opportunity to have their products accepted by the Authorities having Jurisdiction (i.e., BC Safety Authority, Electrical Safety Authority [Ontario], etc.) without the hassle of certification. This program is aimed at those manufacturers/ importers/ distributors producing a limited quantity of products or limited production type manufacturing. A special inspection includes the on-site evaluation of an electrical product to determine its compliance with the applicable codes. At the conclusion of a successful inspection, the product is labeled with the SI label, informing regulators that the product is safe.

Roof Quality Inspection Services

• QAI provides third party roof inspection services of the following roof types:

• Asphalt Shingle
• Wood Shingles and Shakes
• Metal
• Concrete Tile
• Spanish Tile
• Flat Roof – Torch on, SBS Modified Bitumen, Tar and Gravel etc.
• Decks above living spaces (vinyl decking)

Inspections will determine if the roof meets current building code requirements (i.e. BC Building Code or National Building Code). If there are any deficiencies found during the inspection, QAI will detail how to resolve the deficiency to ensure the longevity of the roof.   Upon completion of the inspection, a full report will be provided with pictures indicating the findings of the inspection. If no issues are found, a compliant report will be issued which can be provided to a building official as proof of compliance. Inspections can also be conducted throughout the project at your request. For larger projects such as multi-family dwellings, QAI can also provide the following services:

• Prepare detailed specifications for the project
• Prepare contract documentation
• Tender the project out to competent roofing contractors
• Provide on-going inspections throughout the project (Frequency depends on the speed and size of the project) ensuring the project runs smoothly along with maintaining quality throughout the project

Building Envelope Quality Inspection Services

QAI offers Building Envelope Inspection services to ensure that the installation methods of exterior cladding systems are in accordance with the current Building Code and Municipal By-Laws at the time the building permit was obtained. QAI will also provide basic wall penetrations details (window, vents, exterior electrical outlets, membrane wall junction terminations, sloped roof to wall intersection, general cavity details etc) if applicable, and/or required. Site visits will be conducted at appropriate intervals throughout the project to evaluate the critical stages of construction. After each inspection, a full report will be issued based on the findings of the report.
