RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – QAI had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESAM), International Code Council (ICC) and the International Code Council Evaluation Services (ICC-ES). The group received a tour of our Building Products laboratory, focusing on fire and physical properties testing.
The tour started with a brief review of ASTM E108 “Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Roof Coverings”, followed by a demonstration of a burning brand fire test on a roof deck assembly.
Moving along to our physical testing area, the group was able to see our structural rack utilized for testing to ASTM E72 “Standard Test Methods of Conducting Strength Tests of Panels for Building Construction”, such as transverse and racking loads.
Concluding the tour, Andrew Tan, P.E. (QAI) explained and demonstrated a wind load pressure test for HUD specific requirements.
We thank everyone that visited our facility today from ESAM, ICC & ICC-ES. It was a pleasure hosting the group in pursuit of sharing knowledge and evolving building product safety globally.
