The week of May 25th, the IAS Board of Directors visited QAI Laboratories at their Coquitlam, BC location. During the visit, IAS was given a presentation issue relating to a commercial lab and accreditations. They also spent some time in the lab witnessing fenestration, electrical and fire tests. Additionally, QAI had multiple representatives attend the BOABC’s Spring Education Conference at the RiverRock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC. This was great opportunity for our staff to network with the local building officials and gain valuable information during the conference sessions.
QAI is a proud member of IAS and the BOABC (Building Officials’ Association of British Columbia). We were happy to share the week with both groups, and have them visit our lab and meet a lot of our staff.

IAS board Tours QAI in B.C., Canada. The International Accreditation Service (IAS) Board of Directors spring meeting was held in Richmond B.C.at invitation from the Building Officials’ Association of British Columbia (BOABC), the association’s Annual General Meeting and 60th Annual Spring Education Conference. IAS President Chuck Ramani gave a presentation on accreditation at the BOABC conference. Later IAS board members visited QAI Laboratories, an IAS-accredited testing laboratory in Vancouver, to observe large-scale fire, Fenestration and electrical tests. For the board it was an educational experience to see an actual lab and real product tests in person. |
