QAI Adds Certification & Inspection of Gas Appliances and Solid-fuel Burning Appliances to Scope

QAI is pleased to announce the addition of gas appliances and solid-fuel burning appliances to our IAS accreditation scope. As a certification body accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and International Accreditation Service (IAS), we are very excited to add new accreditation. Our team has worked diligently to expand this portion of our scope, in turn, granting QAI the ability to now test and certify a new array of products!

Included in our scope of capabilities for the scope expansion are appliances such as:

Fireplaces
Indoor & outdoor cooking appliances
Patio heaters
Decorative gas appliances

For those who manufacture gas appliances and solid-fuel burning products please refer to the information below on important energy efficiency requirements and changes to energy efficiency requirements for gas fireplaces in Canada that come into effect January 1, 2020.
