QAI’s Electrical Safety test laboratory is fully equipped to test and evaluate products to European and international requirements. Electrical safety test standards not only require the normal hi-pot, ground bond and earth leakage tests but also full assessment of circuit design/layout, user documentation requirements, and equipment markings.
The in-depth process is undertaken by knowledgeable, experienced compliance engineers either at our laboratory, on site, or at the manufacturing facility. Our electrical safety laboratory is registered as a CBTL (Certification Body Testing Laboratory) under the CB Scheme.
The assessment process can include design review before assessment as part of a pre-test package. Engineers are focused on assisting the client to identify any non-compliance during the assessment. At the completion of testing and document review, test reports are available which include documentation (photos, test results, supporting component certificates, etc.). Full Technical Files may also be prepared if required by the client.
The low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU can be obtained from Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
For a list of standards harmonized under the Low Voltage Directive go to 2014/35/EU Harmonized Standards.
The European Commission has provided a guide to the Low Voltage Directive. This can be obtained from 2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive Guide.
